Good morning and happy Monday everyone!

With the first day of the 2019 Fall Season rapidly approaching (yes, next Monday!!), I wanted to talk to you all briefly today about the various benefits and over flowing importance of "eating with the seasons". Simply put, this means eating the fruits and veggies that are currently "in season" and readily available for us to purchase and consume!

So, why should I do this and what should I be looking for this season? Here are just a couple of good reasons why, along with what you can pick up now!

  • Trying new things! Gets us out of the monotony of eating the SAME things over and over again. AND, maybe discovering some new favorites!

  • Benefits our bodies internally! Switching up our fruit and veggie intake allows our bodies to possibly absorb different types of nutrients that we may be lacking.

  • Good for that bank account & supports local farmers! Lets not forget that eating "in season" produce means we are eating what is currently in surplus, and that means it is most likely MUCH cheaper at the moment. Tasty switch up, supports local farmers & saves money?? Win win win!

See below for two charts with the fruits and veggies that are currently in season, or will be very soon as most grocery stores and farmers markets alike! Let me know if you try anything! Id be curious as to what you used to cook it with and how you liked it! Our food preparation and choices may get "tedious and boring" sometimes, I know. SOOOO, lets use this as a way to make it more fun and exciting!

All my love, as always.

Brooke
